If you are a blog owner you probably know how important it is to have people subscribe to your blog. However, when first starting a blog it can be hard to get people to subscribe to your blog. In this article I am going to explain how to get more people to subscribe to your blog.
Ask People to Subscribe
If you have been blogging for a while you will notice that you will have hundreds of people coming to your blog everyday if you update your blog with unique and engaging content on a regular basis. So, why not ask them to subscribe to your blog? If you are thinking this sounds too easy to be true think again. All you have to do is follow the following tips when asking your readers to subscribe to your blog:
- Write a blog post that explains that you have a newsletter for your blog. Be sure to tell your readers what type of information they can find in your blogs newsletter (i.e. special subscriber only information, discounts on services, etc.).
- Mention your newsletter in some of your blog posts. Obviously, you won’t want to mention it in every post but consider adding it in at the bottom of one of your posts once every two weeks. You could say something such as “To stay on top of informative articles such as this one subscribe to my blog”.
- Utilize social media as a form of advertising your newsletter. Twitter usually works well for this. It can be a good idea to mention your newsletter when you are writing it and again once you have sent it out.
Give Readers an Incentive for Signing Up
The main reason people subscribe to blogs is because they are receiving some sort of incentive for doing so. You may provide your subscribers with exclusive information that cannot be found anywhere else on your blog for free. Alternatively, if you sell a service you could offer your subscribers with a discount or free trial of your service. However, when offering your readers and incentive for subscribing to your blog you are going to want to make sure that you actually follow through with your promise or you will not only lose your subscribers but you will be labeled as a scam artist as well.
Create Good Blog Content
The main key to attracting people to subscribe to your blog is to create good blog content. If the content on your blog is not interesting and unique to them why would they want to subscribe to your blog? If you want your subscriber list to build you are going to have to give them a reason to want to make sure that they do not miss out on any of your content. This is also going to require you to have to keep your blog up to date as well.
Overall, these are the three main things that you are going to have to do to grow your subscriber base. There are other tips for increasing your blog subscribers but these three tips will definitely show you results once you start implementing them.
