Successful professional bloggers must become workaholics. You need to dedicate a significant amount of time to writing and publishing blogs. After you’ve done this, the marketing begins. It involves coming up with advertisements, setting up social media, and dealing with people across the Internet. It’s about building relationships and using others to increase the exposure your blog gets.


As you grow bigger, your list of daily tasks will increase. If you aren’t disciplined to do this day in and day out for years to come, you won’t achieve the results you want.


  1.       You Need a Thick Skin


If you’re someone who takes every insult to heart, stay away from blogging. Each time you publish a blog, you have to accept that you’re putting yourself out there. You will receive all manner of personal insults, and the catch is you’ll never know who said what. Arguing back makes you look unprofessional and leaving it alone will make it eat away at you.


In short, develop a thick skin now if you want to survive as a blogger. No blogger has ever achieved universal popularity.


  1.       Plagiarism is Everywhere


Plagiarism is everywhere on the Internet. If you think that copyright laws are going to protect you, think again. It doesn’t work like that. Copyright laws are almost impossible to enforce because the people stealing your content aren’t within your country’s jurisdiction. And even if they are, it would cost you more to prosecute them.


Yes, there are ways of dealing with plagiarism, but it’s time-consuming. More popular blogs have so many people stealing content that they can’t keep up. You just have to accept that people are going to steal your content.


It doesn’t mean you can’t become popular and thrive, but it does mean you’re going to have to let little shots against you go.


  1.       If You Build it they Won’t Come


Believe it or not, if you build it people aren’t automatically going to come. There are millions of blogs that go unread every day. You have to publish great content, but it’s not enough to bring in an audience. You need to share it in the right way and promote it across the web. All successful bloggers carry the two traits of patience and persistence.


It’s not uncommon for it to take many years before you start to encounter real success. In conclusion, don’t quit your day job just yet. Start off small and adapt as you start to attract greater numbers of visitors to your blog.
